Luis Ortega comes from a long line of fishermen dedicated to making their living from the sea. Growing up in Mazatlan on the Pacific Coast of Mexico, he relished the delicious dishes that his grandparents and mother created from the family’s daily catch. It’s only natural that he developed a passion for seafood—the same passion that runs through his entire family.
As a teenager and as a young man, Luis cultivated his culinary chops. He started working in restaurants in his native Mexico when he was just 14 years old. He went on to work at a famous local seafood restaurant. There, he experimented with ingredients and flavors to perfect recipes on the restaurant’s menu as well as creating his own dishes.
With 210 Ceviche, Luis has realized his dream and commitment of bringing the bold flavors of authentic Pacific Style Mexican Cocina cuisine to the United States. The result is different from what many people consider to be Mexican food. Sure, tacos are on the menu. But diners at 210 Ceviche also enjoy mouthwatering mahi-mahi, tuna, red snapper and shrimp paired with traditional spices, rice and fresh vegetables.
